CCOA Therapeutics Helps to Promote “Support for Frontline Pandemic Prevention”
with Donation through Gebis Toronto

Toronto, April 8, 2020

As the COVID-19 pandemic has become more serious in Canada, Chinese-Canadians and enterprises have taken action, donating medical supplies and money to support health care workers on the front lines.

The pandemic has generated enormous demand for health care systems. A large number of personal protective equipment is urgently required and essential to help fight this pandemic by giving medical workers the equipment they need to keep themselves and patients safe.

CCOA Therapeutics is actively contributing to the “Support for Frontline Pandemic Prevention” campaign launched by the Gebis Toronto, starting with a donation of 10,000 medical masks to St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto yesterday. This donation is under the active participation and coordination of Ms. Judy Fu, who is the Chief Marketing Officer of CCOA Therapeutics, and Director of Anhui Family Association.

St Michael's Hospital is expected to receive a large number of COVID-19 patients. The teaching and research hospital was founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1892 to care for the sick and poor of Toronto's inner city. Affectionately known as the Urban Angel, St. Michael’s is renowned for providing exceptional patient care. As downtown Toronto’s adult trauma centre, the hospital is a hub for neurosurgery, complex cardiac and cardiovascular care, diabetes and osteoporosis care, minimally invasive surgery and care of the homeless and disadvantaged. St. Michael’s is also one of the province’s major sites of care for critically ill patients.

Since its establishment, CCOA Therapeutics has been committed to the research and development of next-generation drugs and diagnostic reagents for cardiovascular diseases, cancers and hematological diseases. During the pandemic, CCOA Therapeutics is not only responding rapidly to develop novel preventative agents, treatments and diagnostic kits for COVID-19, and to produce hand sanitizers, but also supporting the health and safety of frontline medical personnel. It is hoped that through this endeavour, they will work with other organizations to help overcome the pandemic.
